DANGEROUS GIRLS
Dangerous Girls - a community that empowers women to take to the water developing the skills and building the confidence in their sailing ability.
The Dangerous Girls was started when lockdown was easing. The rules at the time stated that you could only be in close contact with people you lived with. This posed a problem for many people who sailed with others, and many of the ladies crewed. After consulting with a few ladies and a coach, the idea was born to support ladies to get on the water and sail single handed dinghies.
Now lockdown is over, we continue to run the sessions, with plenty of ladies involved so please join us!
Each Tuesday from April - October a group of ladies meet at the sailing club at 17:45 rigged and ready at 18:00. Please contact haversgf@gmail.com for more information.
Coach Karl runs the training, helping us learn how to helm, building confidence and mastering the racing rules. The name came from taking ladies from being dangerous, to being a danger to the race leaders!
If you would like to hire a club dinghy for the session, the details of how you go about this for the first time are here. Please note that this can take a while to set up, so best not to leave it until the last minute. There is also a charge for the hire.
