The Cruising Section of the club operates all year-round both on and off the water and we have five principal activities on offer
Meanderers The Meanderers meet every Wednesday at 9.15am subject to the weather and we day sail to local points on interest and moor up in company before catching the tide home. All you need bring is a sandwich, a love of sailing and a life jacket
Saturday Saunterers The Saturday Saunterers meet one Saturday per month (see Club notice board or web site calendar) and day sail to a local yacht club or eatery. They meet at the Club at 9.00am.
The Club has a very active programme over overnight and multi-night trips between April and October. We do shorter trips to destinations like Poole, Weymouth and Portsmouth and longer range visits to Alderney and Normandy.
The centrepiece of the programme is the Summer Cruise, a well-balanced, two week trip that suits keelboats of all sizes with time to enjoy the destinations on offer

Whether you’re looking to brush up your First Aid or VHF or do your Day Skipper Theory course the Club offers these in-house with special rates for Club members. We have good contacts with specialist sailing schools if you are looking for something more advanced.
We often hold a talk focusing on the finer details of sailing be that specialist sail trimming or meteorology. Free to members and they prove very popular
The Cruising Section holds several Cruising Suppers throughout the year including a prize giving event and the always popular Christmas Panto.
Races are scheduled throughout the year . Each race has its own identity but together they make a series open to all club members. The Solent Circuit is an open series is held towards the end of the season attracting around fifty boats in a number of different classes.
In addition, members may compete in the Thursday evening series run by the Royal Lymington Yacht Club.
We welcome any member to join in our activities whether you own a yacht or not. If you want to crew, we can try and ensure you get a ride with some of the skippers and get to know us. If you’re interested having a chat about the opportunities the Cruising Section offers email our Cruising Captain Tony Cowell (firstname.lastname@example.org)
