Why Race?
Racing provides the opportunity to improve your boat handling and sailing skills and to meet and learn from other sailors.  After racing you can retire to the club bar/restaurant having had the satisfaction of sailing your boat hopefully around the course - maybe fastest!. Recount your adventures and seek tips on how to improve.

OPEN MEETINGS

Each Year the Club hosts a few major Open Meetings.

These attract upwards of 40 visiting dinghies to the club. Racing takes place on the Saturday and Sunday and involves a great deal of pre-planning and dependence upon volunteers on the day to run the racing and provide shore side support, food, drink and entertainment.

Visitors travel very large distances to attend.

If any members are willing to provide accommodation to visiting dinghy sailors - please contact the Sailing Secretary.

SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

The provision of the racing programme involves many volunteers (Race Officers, Committee boat teams, rib drivers and assistants) and the use of a the club ribs, club committee boat (Baverstock) and marks all of which are maintained by the Club Bosun with the support of the Tuesday Club volunteers,

If you would like to assist in any way with the racing programme or assisting at open meetings please contact the Sailing Secretary indicating your area of interest and relevant skills/experience.
